Frequently Asked Questions

What is a sticker vending machine rental?+

A sticker vending machine rental is a full-service experiential activation where guests interact with a custom-branded vending machine to receive a surprise sticker inside a sealed folder. Sticker Fun Time provides everything — sticker design support, printing, production, machine branding, delivery, setup, and pickup. Machines are fully mechanical (no power needed) and available for events of any size, from single-day activations to multi-week residencies, locally in Chicago and nationwide.

How do I book a sticker vending machine for my event?+

Booking starts with four steps: choose your machine, confirm your event location, set your rental duration and number of sticker designs to build a baseline, then customize your activation — sticker types, machine branding, folders, dispense style, and engagement mechanics. You can check your date, build a quick estimate, or talk to a Sticker Fun Time Producer to get started. After booking, your Producer helps finalize your activation strategy and provides all templates and guidelines for artwork.

What is included with a Sticker Fun Time rental?+

Every rental includes your chosen machine (3-slot or 4-slot), custom front display prints, sticker production at $150 per design with 100 stickers included per design, blank folders, a design consultation with your SFT Producer, and white glove setup and teardown. Customizations like premium sticker types, custom backing paper, custom folders, machine wraps, tokens, and additional sticker quantities are available as add-ons.

How much does it cost to rent a sticker vending machine?+

Sticker Fun Time pricing is based on three things: your event location, your rental duration, and the number of sticker designs — not which machine you choose. Rental is $250 per hour for shorter events, with a day rate of $2,400 that auto-applies when it's cheaper than hourly. Multi-day events get a reduced rate of $1,800 per day after the first. Each day = 24 hours from your setup time. Any remaining hours beyond full days are billed hourly, capped at the next day rate. Sticker production is $150 per design with 100 stickers included. A $2,500 creative and production services fee applies to every rental. Customizations like premium sticker materials, machine wraps, custom folders, and tokens are priced separately. Chicagoland events have a 4-hour minimum. Nationwide events have a 1-day minimum. Need a weekly rental or longer? Talk to a Producer for custom pricing.

Where can I rent a sticker vending machine?+

Sticker Fun Time is based in Chicago, IL and serves events locally and nationwide. Chicagoland delivery covers events within 100 miles of ZIP 60625, with fees by distance zone — included within 10 miles, scaling up to $500 for 71–100 miles. Nationwide service covers every U.S. market including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Nashville, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Detroit, Charlotte, Portland, San Diego, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Columbus, St. Louis, Tampa, Raleigh, Pittsburgh, and anywhere in between. A $2,000 operations fee covers nationwide logistics including shipping and two days of unit downtime.

What happens after I book a Sticker Fun Time?+

After booking, your SFT Producer walks you through your full activation strategy — dispense order, method, folder customization, per-design decisions, machine branding, and production planning. Your team designs artwork using SFT-provided templates and guidelines, or SFT offers full-service creative as an add-on. Your Producer is your single point of contact from booking through event day.

How long does it take to produce a sticker vending machine activation?+

A typical activation runs 4–6 weeks from booking to event day, depending on your customizations, your creative team's bandwidth, and the client approval process. The standard booking minimum is 3 weeks out — projects between 2 and 3 weeks enter rush production (per-day fees on stickers and custom folders). SFT cannot guarantee execution under 2 weeks. Custom tokens require a 6-week lead time (30 days out is the hard deadline). Complex activations with full wraps, custom creative, or nationwide logistics benefit from 6+ weeks of lead time. Check availability for your date to start the conversation.

What sticker types are available for a vending machine rental?+

Sticker Fun Time offers 19 sticker types across three tiers. Standard types (included at base price): Standard Vinyl, Heavy Duty, Easy Off, and Recycled Paper. Material effects ($25–$100 per design): Prismatic, Holographic, Glitter, Pixie Dust, Mirror, and Brushed Metal. Specialized types ($25–$100 per design): Reflective, Glow in the Dark, Clear, Transfer, Front Adhesive, Fabric, Embossed, Static Cling, and Iron On. Every sticker fits inside a 3″ × 4.5″ dispense folder.

Can I customize the vending machine branding?+

Yes. Machines have five branding tiers: included front display prints, spot graphics, full wrap ($1,200), top wrap ($850), and stand wrap ($350). Both the 3-slot and 4-slot machines are fully wrappable. SFT provides templates for all branding surfaces and handles printing, installation, and removal. Vinyl is specialty recycled when available through SFT's recycling network.

Can I customize the dispense folders?+

Yes. Folders have four printable sides and can carry messaging, artwork, QR codes, coupons, or invites — turning the packaging into a branding surface and collectible. One sticker per folder is most common, but folders can hold up to four stickers for collectible sets or premium activations.

How does the dispense style work?+

You control how stickers are dispensed. Gating options include open access (guests pull freely) or token-gated (guests earn or receive a branded token first). Slot configuration covers one design per slot, multiple designs per slot, random order, or custom order. Golden tickets can be placed in specific slots at specific positions — engineered, not random. Your SFT Producer helps design the dispense strategy based on your event goals and guest count.

What makes Sticker Fun Time different from other experiential activations?+

Sticker Fun Time is a participation design and experiential production company, not just a machine rental. Every project includes a dedicated SFT Producer who handles activation strategy, creative consultation, print production, logistics, and onsite setup. The machines are fully mechanical — no power, no tech failures — and the push-pull dispense mechanic creates a genuine surprise-and-delight moment that guests engage with and talk about. With 20 sticker types, custom folders, machine branding, token gating, golden tickets, and activation design, SFT builds experiences that go far beyond putting stickers in a machine.
